M.A. in Studio Art
The Department of Art and Art History offers a program of study that leads to the Master of Arts in Studio Art. Each student designs a program of study in consultation with a faculty adviser. Degree requirements may be undertaken on a part-time basis, and a portion of the degree may be earned by attending classes offered in summer sessions.

M.A. in Studio Art: Track in Art Education
Designed for practicing art educators, the Masters of Arts in Studio Art with a track in Art Education deepens studio practice while building individualized art teaching skills. Drawing from Adelphi's rich studio resources as its core (such as a leading ceramics facility, printmaking, watercolor painting, fiber arts, and other areas), innovative graduate level Art Education coursework, our unique Exploring the Arts series in interdisciplinary arts education (from Educational Theatre, to Waldorf Education, Autobiography, and many other courses), and Education courses in technology and creativity, this program helps the teaching artist to become a studio professional.

M.A. in Art Education
A Master of Arts in Art Education is also available. Artistic experience encourages independent, flexible thinking, awakens the senses, and engages our entire being—head, heart and hands—in the experience of the diverse worlds around us. The special mission of Art Education is to nourish imagination and inspiration, things often overlooked in traditional educational programs. Please see the Ruth S. Ammon School of Education for more information.
