The Department of Art and Art History seeks to nurture talent, encourage expression, and expand the boundaries of creativity. In all its forms, art serves to broaden one's perspective and to enrich life in innumerable ways.

Students gain a firm foundation in the core requirements of studio art that prepares them for specialization in fine and applied arts or in art education.

Through its undergraduate and graduate programs, the Department of Art and Art History promotes an appreciation for the arts that extends across all disciplines.
