Introduction
The Art History program at Adelphi provides students with comprehensive knowledge of the history of art from ancient times through the modern era. Classroom study is augmented by trips to New York City's renowned museums and galleries.

Art history majors take classes across a broad range of thematic and chronological subject areas and develop written and verbal skills in the critical analysis and interpretation of art. Students with a major or minor in art history are encouraged to develop skills in studio art, complemented by studies in the liberal arts.
