Portfolio Requirements

Because both the University and the department of art and art history must accept prospective art students, there are two parts to the application process. You must submit a completed application form to the University’s Office of Admissions and a portfolio of recent work to the art department.

Submitting Your Portfolio
In Person: Call the art department office at 516.877.4460 to make an appointment for your portfolio review. This is also a great opportunity to see our facilities and meet faculty. Your portfolio should contain 12–20 pieces of recent work. Actual work is preferred, but slides and CDs are also acceptable.

By Mail: Do not send original work through the mail. Send slides or a CD with clear images of 12–20 pieces of your recent work. Please include your email address and telephone number. If you want your slides or CD returned, include a self-addressed stamped return envelope. Send your portfolio to:

Financial Aid
You have many options when it comes to financing your education. At Adelphi, 88% of our 4,758 undergraduate students receive financial aid. In 2005–2006, the University awarded full-time undergraduate students an average financial aid package of $14,100, and 75% of full-time freshmen received scholarships or need-based grants. To find out more, visit the Office of Student Financial Services' Web site http://ecampus.adelphi.edu/sfs/ or call 516.877.3080 to make an appointment with one of our dedicated financial aid counselors.
