HIS 210: Modern China 3 credits Students will explore the social, cultural, and religious developments surrounding the fall of Imperial China in 1911, the failure of the Guomindang to create a viable republic, the victory of the Chinese Communists, and the events leading to the Tiananmen Massacre.
