CHE 571: Biochemistry I ( Lecture )

Students explore the chemistry of amino acids, lipids, carbohydrates, and the structure and functions of biomacromolecules: proteins, nucleic acids, and polysaccharides. Topics include enzyme kinetics and bioenergetics. Laboratory includes the analytical techniques of biochemistry: spectroscopy, chromatography, and electrophoresis. There are three class periods and one laboratory period a week.
