Adelphi offers two organizations for students interested in communications, Lambda Pi Eta and Works in Progress. Students can also participate in SAY IT!, an innovative program designed to introduce students in the New York City school system to the different media.

Lambda Pi Eta
Students who major in communications may be eligible to join Lambda Pi Eta, the national communication honor society.

Works in Progress
All students with an interest in communications are encouraged to join Works in Progress, a film club dedicated to showcasing the film and video projects of Adelphi students. This student organization produces a weekly public access cable show that is broadcast on Optimum cable channel 71 and Cablevision channel 25.
Works in Progress also organizes and hosts the annual fall film festival and hosts the annual Spring Erotic Festival.
The club meets every Wednesday at 5:00 PM in Blodgett 108.

SAY IT!
SAY IT! is a media literacy program directed by Department of Communications faculty members and partially staffed by Adelphi student interns. SAY IT! works to bring media literacy into the curriculum of several public schools in Manhattan and Queens. This program is designed to teach young people to learn how to critically read and also to creatively write media.
Family Media Legends, a narrative, and The Making of Jelicle Cats, a documentary, were created as part of this program. Both videos are available to watch online.
