ENG 638: Teaching Writing: Theory And Pratice 4 credits This course explores history, theory, and practice of teaching rhetoric and writing, particularly in colleges and universities in the United States since the Mid-19th Century. We will consider cultural and ideological pressures that have shaped history, impact of such pressures on actual classroom practice, and current state of the discipline.
