BUS 652: An analysis of the role of government in the economy. An appraisal is made of the antitrust laws, the patent system and other measures designed to maintain and foster competition. Governmental views on merger action and 'big business' are analyzed. Governmental programs in the form of grants, subsidies, and policies to promote economic stability are evaluated.
