ENV 630: S/T: Renewable Energy: Resourc Implementation,And The Environment

This course will provide in depth analyses of renewable energy sources including solar, wind, geothermal, low head hydro, wave and tidal, ocean thermal gradient, and biomass including bliosolids and agricultural resources. The available resources will be assessed, the technologies to implement energy conversion evaluated, the relative economics of various implantation schemes analyzed, and the long range impact on the environment discussed. Application to combined heat and power systems (CHP) will be analyzed. At least two field trips are planned.
