HIS 102: Western Civilization I I 3 credits This course examines the Whys and Wherefores of History: its nature and functions; why historians are critics as well as recounters of the past. It surveys religion, culture, politics, and society, and selected “heroes” and crises in Western culture from Galileo to Iraq War II.
