HIS 233: Colonial America 3 credits Students will read about, write about, and discuss the British, French, Spanish, and Dutch colonial efforts from the Caribbean to Canada. In addition, assignments and class time will center on encounters between Europeans and native Americans, the origins of New World slavery, religion and witchcraft, and other themes.
