HIS 317: The Civil Rights Movement 3 credits This is a study of the struggle of Black Americans to achieve equality and justice in the United States, and the resistance they encountered. It traces the history of the movement from the period of the Civil War and Reconstruction, through its triumph in the creation and enforcement of civil rights legislation.
