LIN 103: Descriptive And Historic Linguistics 3 credits Students explore basic phonology, morphology, and syntactic theory as well as nature of changes in phonology, morphology, vocabulary, and meaning. The instructor will select topics for illustration include regional and social dialects. We will also study the nature of language as exhibited in an examination of species beyond man, such as the chimpanzee.
