Our faculty are world-class artists and professionals uniquely invested in building mentoring relationships with our undergraduate students.
Our programs of study are rigorous and challenging. Strong pre-professional preparation is valued here. But our teachers know that artistic excellence requires not only sound knowledge and technique, it demands personal courage.
Our facility is beautiful, brand-new, and contains state-of-the-art performance, rehearsal, and practice spaces. Our students not only perform often here, they also get to witness great professional performances. Being housed under one roof, students and faculty from our three departments make continual contact, leading to some wonderful collaborative projects.
Our scholarships reflect the value that we place in the talent and drive of our students. All students who major in dance, music, or theatre at Adelphi University are eligible for competitive, generous scholarships based on their auditions.
Our campus is art-filled, beautifully landscaped, and in a leafy, quiet neighborhood. We’re also wonderfully situated: A nearby train station provides convenient access to the artistic treasures of New York City.
Most important are our students. They're a driven group; young artists and scholars who engage in their work and study with passion, vigor, and curiosity. Quite a few of them are also enrolled in Adelphi’s Honors College. They seem to especially like the fact that what we feature—passionate and expert faculty, rigorous training, excellent facilities and resources, great location—is all housed within an intimate and caring community.
The net sum of the above factors is an educational experience unlike any other. We're not your average conservatory, or liberal arts college. In some very important ways, we feature the best of both.
