Imaginative and innovative, Anneliese von Goerken performs all of her showpieces with the ease and flair of a virtuoso entertainer. Her voice has been lauded as on of exceptional beauty and versatility, coupled with a rich, full-bodied, velvet quality. Hailing form the Pacific Northwest, Ms.vonGoerken made her debut with Arizona Opera as Madame Boldentrill in Mozart’s The Impresario. A show stopping appearance as Queen of the Night led to engagements as Zerbinetta in Ariadne Auf Naxos and Lucia in Lucia Di Lammermoor. Ms.vonGoerken has sung with the Bronx Opera, Belleayre Music Festival, Tacoma Chamber Orchestra, Bremerton Symphony Orchestra, Evergreen Music Festival, The Washington-Idaho Symphong and The Center for Contemporary Opera in New York City. She has been heard in concert in both the United States and in England and was the Featured Soprano Soloist in a PBS production of Carmina Burana. Ms.vonGoerken performed the United States premiere of Five Bells, and in April of 2005 was contracted to perform the U.S. premiere of Poemes D’Amour D’Apres Guillaume Apollinaire (both by Christopher Lyndon-Gee). Additional recitals of work by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer, Paul Moravec, Maestro Lyndon-Gee (Grammy nominee; Naxos label) and other contemporary composers follow these premieres. Upcoming engagements include a number of recitals and a debut recording of J. Weinberger’s The Way to Emmaus (organ and voice). Other appearances during 2006-2008 include a reprise of her popular recital program, Memories of Home, performances as Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus, Countess Almaviva in LeNozze DiFigaro and a performance of Canteloube’s Chants D’Auvergne with the Adelphi Symphony Orchestra.
