Dance Admission Requirements

Auditions
Entrance into the Dance Department is by audition. Acceptance into the University does not necessarily confer acceptance into the various programs of the Department of Performing Arts.

Auditions are held in the dance studios of the Performing Arts Center and are made by appointment. They are held on Mondays and Thursdays throughout the school year.

Applicants are required to present a two-three minute solo. This piece need not be performed in costume, but you should bring a CD or tape for the presentation.

You will be required to take two classes, one ballet and one modern (each class 1 1/2 hour). You will also be required to present a two-three minute solo (music of your choice).

Ballet attire is pink tights for women, black tights for men, and ballet slippers. Modern attire is black, footless tights.
