Theatre Design Degree
Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Theatre Arts:
Design/Technology
In this theatre design and technology degree program, students are
trained in the many design aspects and technical functions of the
performing arts. This study involves analysis and comparison of the
historical, critical, and aesthetic contexts in which the dramatic
tradition has developed.
Students in the theatre design and technology degree program are
required to meet the University's General Education
requirements and take an additional 63 credits to earn the B.F.A.
degree. The plan of study
includes a combination of required courses and electives. In their
third year, students will have an interview and portfolio review. They
will then choose, with the advice of faculty and staff, a specialty in
one of the major areas of theatre technology, design (scenic, costume,
lighting), or stage management.
Adelphi also offers a minor in theatre
design/technology.
