Theatre: Design/Technical Minor

Twenty six credits are required for a minor in Theatre Design/Technology.

The required courses include:
  • PTD 101, 151, 201, 251, 301, 351 Research, Rehearsal, and Production (2 credits each)
  • PTD 103 History and Application of Theatre Technology (2 credits)
  • PTD 153 Introduction to Costumes (2 credits)
Select 10 credits from below with departmental advisement:
  • PTD 115 Mechanical Drafting (2 credits)
  • PTD 165 Scenographic Techniques
    (2 credits)
  • PTD 169 Sound (2 credits)
  • PTD 213 Property Construction (3 credits)
  • PTD 241 Costume Construction I (3 credits)
  • PTD 223 Stage Management I (3 credits)
  • PTD 313 Advanced Technical Theatre I (3 credits)
  • PTD 319 Scene Painting I (2 credits)
  • PTD 331 Draping and Pattern Making (2 credits)
  • PTD 315, 365 Scene Design I, II (2 credits each)
  • PTD 317, 367 Lighting Design I, II (2 credits each)
  • PTD 333, 383 Costume Design I, II (2 credits each)
  • PFA 210, 260 Theatre History I, II (3 credits each)
In addition to class requirements, Design/Technology minors are responsible for fulfilling the departmental minor tech hours:
  • 24 hours per semester during the first year
  • 20 hours per semester during second year
  • 18 hours per semester during third year.
