MUA 110: Elementary Theory And Harmony I 3 credits This course focuses on the fundamentals of reading and notating music, the principles of voice leading, and analyses of brief diatonic harmonic progressions, as well as an introduction to figured bass and chord symbols. Examples are drawn primarily from the Western classical canon, supplemented by excerpts from popular literature.
