MUA 111: Theory And Harmony I I 3 credits This course begins with a review of the principles of part-writing, before proceeding to the study of normative harmonic progressions, diatonic triads, an introduction to musical form, and ending with non-chord tones. Examples to be studied are drawn primarily from the Western classical canon, supplemented by excerpts from popular literature.
