Adelphi senior Melissa Castelvetre was chosen to present at the 21st National Conference on Undergraduate Research, 2007. Her topic focuses on musical settings of the Faust legend.

Prof. Christopher Lyndon-Gee, Music Department Chair
- Again received a Grammy nomination, this time in connection with his recording of Henze’s Violin concertos 1 & 3 with Peter Sheppard Skaerved and the Saarbruecken Radio Symphony Orchestra
- Was the only non-Polish artist invited for the entire eight days of concerts in the Pawel Szymanski Festival in Warsaw, Poland. He conducted the closing concert, which was radio-broadcast live, and was recorded for DVD with a planned release date of March ’07.
- World premiere in Florence 2006 at Villa I Tatti (Harvard Centre for Renaissance Itlian Studies) : 'Frammento del Dante', commission of I Tatti and Ensemble Singer Pur of Regensburg, Germany. Singer Pur have scheduled in excess of 20 further performances and a commercial recording of the new work during the 2006 - 07 and 2007 - 08 seasons. I Tatti and Singer Pur have commissioned a further new work from Lyndon-Gee slated for premiere in summer 2008; and Lyndon-Gee is also currently completing a set of five Songs with Lute accompaniment undertaken at the request of the Vienna-based second Tenor of Singer Pur, Manuel Warwitz.
- Commissioned for the 25th anniversary Presteigne Festival, Great Britain, August 2007 : "Over Litton", to be premiered by members of the Philharmonia Orchestra, London.
Prof. Sidney Boquiren, composer
- Is now being published by Boosey and Hawkes. The next work to be published by B&H is Three Philippine Folksongs, under the new imprint as Three About Life (Fall, ‘07).
- Will be guiding a project in residency at STEIM (Center for Electronic Music) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands (May 29 June 4, ’07)
- Has multiple premieres scheduled for the coming year, including ones at Holy Trinity Church in NYC (April 29), Tufts University in Massachusetts (April 30), NOISE Festival of New Music in San Diego (June 17), as well as premieres to be presented by Voces Nordicae in Sweden, and Orchestra of Our Time in New York City
Prof. Paul Moravec, University Professor
- In the 2006-7 season, Paul Moravec's works continue to be performed and broadcast widely throughout the U.S. and Europe.
- In October, 2006 Paul Moravec received the Lawrenceville Medal, The Lawrenceville School's highest honor.
- In the 2006-7 season, he is Composer-in-Residence with the Mannes College of Music in Manhattan and his works are featured in the annual New Music Festival.
- He continues as a lecturer in the New York Philharmonic pre-concert lecture series.
- This season, Professor Moravec is the director of The Composers Project, a joint production of Symphony Space in New York City and the Westport Arts Center in CT, featuring such renowned artists as the Kronos Quartet, John Corigliano, Amy Burton, Ursula Oppens, Tania Leon, the Lark Quartet, and Adelphi's own Trio Solisti.
- His numerous premieres this season include works for the Ying Quartet, cellist Matt Haimovitz, the Harvard Glee Club, the Lark Quartet, the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, and flutist Marya Martin. His Pulitzer Prize-winning Tempest Fantasy is re-released in March, 2007 on Naxos American Classics. The Time Gallery, another Naxos CD, was named one of the top five classical CDs of 2006 by National Public Radio.
Adelphi Chorus Director and Vocal Instructor Michael Hume was the featured vocalist in two concerts of songs and duets from Musical Theatre at the Community Synagogue of Rye, New York, in January /07. Additionally, he will be serving as judge at the upcoming vocal competition Paul Straney Award, and will be leading workshops in voice and sightsinging skills during the 2007 Long Island Choral Festival and Institute, taking place on the Adelphi campus between July 23-28, 2007.
Adjunct Jazz Prof. Steve Lampert will have a CD of original compositions released on Bridge records later this year.
Adjunct Jazz Prof. Angelo Musolino had a CD release in 2006 of all original compositions on Albany Records.
Adjunct Flute Prof. Linda Wetherill had a CD release in 2006 titled “Invitation to the Music of George Rochberg.” Also on that same CD was Adjunct Harp Prof. Susan Jolles.
Adjunct Vocal Professor Jonathan Goodman, recently participated with Steve Reich in a production of “The Cave” at John Jay College, NYC.
Adjunct Cello Prof. Kalin Ivanov had a CD release in 2006 of the music of Roumi Petrova on MSR Classics.
Adjunct Soprano Prof. Anneliese von Goerken upcoming season includes singing major roles in Rosalinda, Die Fledermaus, Le Nozze Di Figaro.
Senior Adjunct Piano Prof. Marilyn Lehman, will be performing with the American Chamber Ensemble at Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall on Sat. March 3 at 2 P.M. The concert will feature works of Villa Lobos, Piazzola, D'Rivera and Ginastera. On April 22nd, Marilyn Lehman will be performing the Mendelssohn Sonata in D major with cellist, Chris Finckel, as part of an American Chamber Ensemble concert at Hofstra University. The concert will be held in the Monroe Lecture Center Theater on California Ave. at 2 P.M.
Adjunct Professor of Voice, Jonathan Goodman, tenor, has been engaged by composer Steve Reich for worldwide performances of Reich's multi-media opera The Cave. He debuted at London's Barbican Theater in October '06, then at Lincoln Center in November. The Cave will be presented in Paris, Normandy and Caen, France in November '07.

Kristin Barone (’06), played as Piano Soloist in Cesar Franck’s Variations Symphoniques with the Adelphi Symphony Orchestra in October, 2006.
