Adelphi students have received recognition for their high-level scholarship and research activities in physics and related disciplines.
- Mahnaz Milani-Baladi (B.S. '04) received a B.S. in chemical engineering from Columbia University and an M.S. in semiconductor processing from the University of Oregon. She now works at Intel.
- Charles Anderson (B.S. '06) won the New York Section of the American Physical Society First Place Poster Prize for his quantum dots research. He is pursuing an M.S. in optics at the University of Rochester.
- Camilo Malagon received a national Society of Physics Students Leadership Award.
- Forange Ledetsch (B.S. '06) is pursuing a Ph.D. in material science at the University of Texas.
- Dwayne John (B.S. '06) is pursuing his Ph.D. in physics at the University of Tennessee.
- Deanna Nohs (B.S. '05) won awards for her research on entangled photons and now works as an environmental engineer.
- Domenic De Rubis (B.S. '03) received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Columbia University and now works for BAE Systems.
- Scott M. Gianelli (M.S. '96) obtained his doctorate in Applied Physics from Columbia University in 2003. He now works for NASA's Goddard Institute of Space Science and Columbia University.
- Carey Hobbs (B.S. '01) is a quantitative analyst at ING Financial Services.
- Jody Jones (B.S. '02) is completing the final year of an M.D. at Columbia University Medical School.
- Thomas Palermo (B.S. '05) presented research on atom traps and is now in the applied physics Ph.D. program at Kent State University.
- Aisha Ahmad (B.S. '03) received a B.S. in electrical engineering from Columbia University and works for Con Edison.
- John Regis (B.S. '03) received a B.S. and M.S. in mechanical engineering from Columbia University.
- Stephen Gutierrez (B.S. '05) received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Columbia University and now works for Northrop Grumman.
- A team composed of physics majors Daniel Stack, Vivek Singh, and Gaurav Kaushik, along with non-physics major Kimberly Weber, won the Adelphi University College Bowl in 2005. The team represented Adelphi at the regional championship in Maryland.
