The Office of Pre-Professional Advising and Fellowships (OPPAF) provides support and individual advising for current students and recent graduates who are seeking admission to professional school beyond Adelphi in the areas of medicine, dentistry, optometry, physical therapy, and other health professions as well as as law, environmental studies, and engineering.

A strong liberal arts and sciences education is the best preparation for professional careers, including law and medicine. Students contemplating or planning to pursue careers in law and health professions can receive guidance from pre-professional councils established for this purpose. Please refer to the Bulletin section for Pre-Professional Preparation as well as your major area of study.

Our dedicated and knowledgeable faculty advisers strive to help you:

  • gain a deeper appreciation of your professional interests
  • identify your strengths and talents
  • prepare for professional school entrance exams
  • develop your interview and writing skills
  • strengthen your problem-solving skills
  • become a candidate for national fellowships and scholarships

In addition, our office can assist you in the application process for fellowships that require institutional support. The OPPAF can provide information and assistance on locating funding opportunities for your post-Adelphi study.
