Law Schools

Adelphi Pre-law advisers and the Career Development Center provide information and advisement to students who plan to attend law school. Pre-law advisers offer a range of services that include:

  • helping students to individually tailor undergraduate programs in preparation for law school
  • offering a comprehensive, convenient, and inexpensive LSAT course
  • sponsoring workshops and conferences
  • assisting with law school selection, applications, and recommendations
  • providing pre-law materials for students.

Pre-law students are urged to register with the Office of Pre-Professional Advising and Fellowships (OPPAF), located in Levermore Hall room 303.

Pre-Law Society

tudents interested in pursing law studies should join the Pre-law Society, a student-led organization which provides information and encouragement to students considering a career in law. The Society sponsors speakers and panel discussions on issues relating to getting into law school, the different areas of legal practice, and the role of law in society. The speakers also share their own experiences of law school. Adelphi alumni currently attending law school are welcomed back to talk about their experiences. The Society works together with the Center for Career Development, the faculty's Pre-law Council, as well as the Office for Pre-Professional Advising and Fellowships to provide guidance and advice on an individual basis.

Attending Pre-Law Society meetings is beneficial to future law students as presentations are made and advice is given regarding the law school admission process. Admissions counselors from various law schools attend the meetings as well and provide their insight on creating the best law school application.

The Law School Admission Test (LSAT) is also discussed in the Pre-Law Society meetings. Various LSAT preparatory providers may make presentations at meetings to discuss their areas of strength so students can make an informed decision about an LSAT prep course.

Also, be sure to check postings on the Pre-Law Society Message Board on eCampus.
