Adelphi University's Ninth Annual Research Conference, to be held on April 16, 2012, is evidence of the Adelphi University Community’s commitment to scholarship.
The theme of this year’s conference is, “Innovation, Integration, and Imagination: Research and Scholarship in the New Millennium;” this theme highlights the creative nature of research and the importance of integration with existing knowledge to move research and scholarship forward.
This year we also have a secondary theme, "Health in the Global Community," which highlights the research and scholarship on campus that is specifically focused on health issues. As Adelphi continues to build its Center for Health Innovation, we anticipate that our university will move to the forefront in such research. Our keynote speaker, Laurie Garrett from the Council on Foreign Relations, will also address issues of health in the global community with her work on emerging diseases.
The purpose of this conference is to offer both faculty and students a stage from which they can display their scholarship, but also to inspire those who wish to engage in research and scholarly explorations in the future. We encourage conference submissions from all disciplines, including the Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Nursing, Humanities, and the Arts.
