We are pleased to let you know that our Sixth Annual Research Conference, Spanning the Scholarly Spectrum, will be held on April 20, 2009. The conference celebrates the efforts of students and their mentors/advisors in expanding classroom learning and demonstrates the role of research in enhancing critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. It offers students a unique opportunity to share their work with fellow members of the Adelphi academic community.
Who can present at the conference?
Undergraduate and Graduate students may present posters, oral presentations (accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation), and other creative works appropriate to the discipline, such as sculpture, paintings, graphics, poetry and the like.
What can I present?
Our research conferences are designed to highlight the broad scope and outstanding caliber of student research from every school and discipline. Students are invited to submit their research relating to class projects, independent studies, seminars, or research assistantships. Presentation of works-in-progress is acceptable and encouraged. You can present your research in the form of a poster or oral presentation accompanied with a power point presentation.
Will I be excused from classes?
There will be no classes scheduled for the day of the conference which will allow you to participate as a conference attendee or presenter.
When is the deadline for submissions?
Abstracts will be accepted up to March 13, 2009.
How do I submit my abstract?
An online application is available.
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact myself or the co-chair of the committee, Dr. Sean Bentley, at researchconference@adelphi.edu.
We look forward to your contribution to this exciting conference.
Sincerely,
Francine Conway
Associate Professor of Psychology
