Students in the Health Studies program in dual certification in health education and physical education will receive a Bachelor of Science in physical education and be eligible for initial New York State certification as a health educator.
The course of study includes
- 36 credits in health content
- 12 credits in professional education
- 3 credits in student teaching.
To be awarded initial teaching certification, students are required to pass the New York State Teacher Certification Examination, consisting of the Liberal Arts and Science Test (L.A.S.T.), the Assessment of Teaching Skill-Written (ATS-W), and the Health Content Examination.
