Students seeking a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with a concentration in Exercise Science or Pre-Physical Therapy/Allied Health focus on the application of scientific principles to:

The plan of study includes field experience. This program does not lead to New York State professional teaching certification.

Pre-Physical Therapy/Allied Health
The requirements for this program include all foundation and elective courses from Exercise Science. The additional electives should include coursework in the basic sciences such as biology, chemistry, and physics. Statistics and/or calculus may also be required.

Joint Degree Program in Physical Therapy
Adelphi University and the New York College Medical School of Health Sciences in Valhalla, New York offer a combined seven-year Bachelor of Science/Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Adult Fitness Program
The Adult Fitness Program provides access to a supervised exercise opportunity for Adelphi students, faculty and staff and members of the surrounding community. The program is geared toward the prevention and rehabilitation of disease. It is staffed by graduate students and provides a hands-on learning experience for students studying Exercise Science.
Grade Policy:
Students must achieve a grade of C- or higher in the following classes to be eligible for practicum, internship; enroll in graduate (500-700) level courses or continue in the concentration. Classes with grades lower than C must be repeated for continuance.
