TR - 1:40-2:55 p.m.

This course will examine how changes in the mass media have transformed political communication. In particular, we will explore the relationship between modern media systems and various forms of propaganda, including campaign Web sites, the blogosphere, political ads, punditry, and the manipulation of news coverage. In addition to a consideration of relevant concepts and theories, the course will also include a specific analysis of the 2008 Presidential Election, and the global "war on terror."
