The Adelphi University Intersession gives students an opportunity for non-traditional learning experiences including exploring art galleries or museums, intensive writing or language acquisition, and study abroad. While each course meets New York State regulations for instructional time, the various creative, enriching approaches imply great variability in meeting times and locations. To prevent time conflicts, students may register for only one course per intersession.
Intersession courses are considered a part of the spring semester and will be grouped with them on student transcripts.
Adelphi has a three-week Intersession:
Intersession: January 2 to January 22*
Please see the Academic Calendar for a listing of important Intersession dates and deadlines.
*Please note: Selected Intersession classes and workshops may run on variable schedules. Search all courses in our online Course Search database.
Billing/Financial Aid Considerations
Undergraduate students paying flat-rate Spring tuition may apply intersession credits to their flat rate. If the credit load exceeds 17 credits, the per/credit rate will apply for additional credits. Part-time students would continue to pay at the per/credit rate. Students for whom credits accumulated in the combined intersession/spring semester sessions result in increased eligibility may apply for financial aid for that semester. Study abroad credits are exempt from this formula all study abroad credits are billed at the per credit rate and additional experience-specific fees apply.
Graduate students will pay the per credit rate for all credits earned in an intersession course.
All relevant University fees will apply to intersession offerings.
Please refer to http://ecampus.adelphi.edu/sfs/tuition_fees.php for a more detailed explanation of tuition and fees.
