The nation's health care system, advancing technologies, and changing needs of generations old and new, present new and exciting opportunities in the field of nursing today. The focus of nursing reaches beyond traditional health care facilities, with more and more nurses delivering quality care in home health care agencies, clinics, HMOs, ambulatory surgicenters,
and nursing homes. Home-based health care is expanding as a result of the changing health care needs of the disabled, released hospital patients, and our aging population. A growing trend toward entrepreneurship in the field is evidenced by the number of nurses launching their own health care businesses.
Today's nurses are performing increasingly complex roles. To perform successfully and progress in the profession, nurses need to be equipped with advanced knowledge, new skills, and specialized capabilities. The Adelphi School of Nursing is committed to excellence in education and training, and prepares today's nurses for professional advancement in practice, teaching, administration, and management. Graduates of our Master's and Post-Master's nursing programs possess the essential foundations and future vision to serve our communities as highly qualified care givers and to lead the nursing profession in the 21st century and beyond. The curricula of The School of Nursing are registered by the New York State Education Department, Division of Professional Education and are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The school holds membership in the Council of Baccalaureate and Higher Degree Programs of the National League for Nursing and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. |
