2004 - 2005 Student Nurses Association would like to welcome all Nursing students and faculty. We are looking forward to a great 2004-2005 school year. Our meetings will be held every Monday starting on September 13, 2004 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm in room 206 in Alumnae Hall. Student Nurses Association would like to invite all nursing students and faculty to our welcome back pizza party on Monday, September 20, 2004. The pizza party will be held in the University Center ballrooms. Student Nurses Association will be participating in the Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach on October 17 th, and we hope to have an even greater participation than in past years for such a worthy cause. We will also be sponsoring a Food and Clothing Drive this Fall. In addition, Student Nurses Association is currently trying to organize a mentoring program to orient new nursing students to the Adelphi nursing program. Throughout the course of the year we will hold fundraisers such as the sale teddy bears, totes, hats, etc. In the spring we hope to once again have success with the Maama Kits fundraiser for providing women in Africa with much needed labor and delivery supplies. Our loftiest goal for this year is the development of a Health Care Fair to teach the Adelphi population and community at large about relevant issues in health and wellness. Hospital throughout the New York and New Jersey areas will be visiting Adelphi University to provide students with pertinent information about their institution, recruitment, salary, and internships. The year will culminate with our Pinning Ceremony and the Nursing Banquet in May 2005. Our ultimate goal of Student Nurses Association, is to encourage students to get involved with our meetings and community activities. We would also like students to make suggestions and share any concerns so we can work as a team to make the 2004 -2005 school year fulfilling and productive.STUDENT NURSES ASSOCIATION BOARD MEMBERS Marie Flore-Timmer, President |
