Teaching an Online or Blended Course |
Important information: Faculty need to obtain written permission from their dean or chair to teach an online course. Course methodology needs to be indicated when the course is open for student registration. Please let your departmental course planner know if you are using the Blended (30-79% content online) or Online (80%+ content online) methodology so they can process the course appropriately.
FCPE Workshops to Prepare Teaching an Online Course
The following workshops should be attended at least one semester prior to developing or teaching an online course.
- Moodle I – Introduction (2 hrs)
- Transferring Blackboard Courses into Moodle (1 hr)
- Moodle Communication Tools (2 hrs)
- Moodle Assessment Tools (2 hrs)
- Wimba Online Classroom and Voice Tools (2 hrs)
- Preparing to Teach an Online Course (1.5 hrs)
- Developing Online and Blended Courses (1 week, online)
