The Office of Academic Services and Retention coordinates Freshman Registration and monitors each student's academic program. The Office oversees all student initiated academic transactions including faculty advising, petitions for leave of absence, and withdrawals from courses or the University.

A resource for students in need of individual and small group tutoring, the Center also holds workshops covering studying tips, time management, and exam preparation. Non-native speakers of English can improve their language skills in the weekly American English conversation groups.

and Fellowships
The office provides support and individual advising for current students and recent graduates who are seeking admission to professional school beyond Adelphi in the areas of medicine, dentistry, optometry, physical therapy, and other health professions as well as as law, environmental studies, and engineering.

Writers of all levels can use the Center to improve their writing ability. Tutors will assist students in organizing their material, developing concepts, and producing grammatically correct writing assignments, reports, essays, and letters. Tutoring sessions last for 45 minutes.
