Undergraduate: Health Care Management |
The Certificate in Health Care Management is a five course, 20-credit certificate program open to both health care professionals and those interested in a career in health care. The courses cover a wide range of management topics important to health care administrators. Students will cover organizational structure, program planning, financial management, budgeting, team building, labor relations, employee compensation, health care liability, malpractice insurance, and health care delivery systems.
Certificate Overview
Students in the Health Care Management program complete five, 4-credit courses. This is a credit certificate that can be applied to a full bachelor’s degree program at a later date. The courses run evenings and weekends to accommodate the health care professional’s busy work schedule. The dedicated faculty are accomplished health care professionals who instruct students in program planning, organizational structure, cost control, budgeting, employee evaluation, team building, health care liability, record management systems, and billing and collection systems.
The certificate can easily be earned in two semesters. Students use this certificate as a stand-alone credential or apply it toward a full degree at a later date.

Who Should Apply
The program is open to the public; no prior experience in the health care field is necessary for enrollment. Students who are already working in the health care industry will find the certificate program covers topics and teaches skills that can be used immediately on the job. For those students interested in a career in health care, the certificate gives a broad overview of important management topics that will help the student begin their careers successfully.
