The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business program will give you the knowledge and practical intelligence needed to excel in your current position and to prepare for career advancement. From a curriculum that integrates cutting-edge management theory and practice with state-of-the-art instruction, you will gain the knowledge and skills to stay ahead of today’s technology-driven marketplace. Graduates go on to positions in sales, management, real estate or choose to start their own businesses. 


Degree Overview

Candidates for this degree must have completed at least 120 credits, 60 of which must be in the liberal arts. The final 30 credits must be taken in graded course work at the University, and no more than 60 of the total credits may be awarded from prior learning. Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in their area of concentration and a minimum GPA of 2.0 from Adelphi overall.

Your business education will be grounded in managerial principles. You will learn to manage an organization’s assets—people, money, information and technology.  You will explore courses in accounting, finance, management, marketing, business ethics, organizational behavior, and international business to prepare for the multifaceted dimensions of a management position.

Who Should Apply

Part-time and full-time matriculated adult students who have an interest in business should apply.  The program is ideal for students who are working in a business, government, nonprofit, or professional organization where business knowledge and skills will advance their career.  It is also ideal for students who are planning to start a business or small enterprise and need business knowledge skills to develop their businesses, or are considering MBA programs but would like to complete the academic business foundations necessary for an advanced business degree.
