Time Commitment:
The amount of time required to complete a degree depends on the number of courses taken each semester, transfer credits and credits for prior learning.
Students with a substantial number of transfer credits who take two or three classes per semester (including summers) may finish in two years or less.
Students with fewer transfer credits, or who take lighter course loads, may require three to four years to earn a degree.
The average student transfers in around 50 credits and receives another 10-25 credits in prior learning. Most students take two or three courses a semester (including summers) and finish their degrees in less than two years.
Most courses are offered nights and weekends and require the students to attend courses around 5-8 hours a week for a little over three months each semester. University College offers online and blended course content that includes both live and online instruction which can reduce the number of trips to campus. Most courses require at least two to three hours each week outside of class to complete the readings, conduct research and prepare assignments.
