The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in Emergency Services Administration is for students who want a liberal arts-based degree that will also prepare them for a career in the growing field of emergency services.
Degree Overview
Candidates for this degree must have completed at least 120 credits, 30 of which must be taken in graded course work at the University. No more than 60 of the total credits may be awarded from prior learning, with a maximum of 16 credits in prior learning from EMS work experience. In all cases, candidates must have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.5.
This program is available entirely online or can be completed taking a mixture of online and live-instruction courses.
A student taking the full 60 credits in prior learning can potentially complete the degree in four semesters. The prior learning credits can include credit for fire or police academy training or EMS certification programs. This bachelor's degree is an excellent preparation for the graduate program in Emergency Management and allows a student to continue to work full time while pursuing their educational goals.
In addition to the 16 credits of core liberal arts requirements, the A.S. in Emergency Services Administration requires Organizational Behavior, Science Electives (4 credits),
Humanities Electives (4 credits), and Arts Electives (8 credits)
