Summer Learning Options for High School Students

High School Students have a variety of opportunities to study at Adelphi over the summer as well as during the Spring and Fall semesters. See these opportunities for students entering grades 9-12 to explore a variety of fields. Our extensive University resources are available to high school students who enroll in our programs for the summer.

Pre-College Program

Through this college-level program, high school students will explore an academic area of interest in a challenging and supportive University-based learning community.

The Pre-College program offers a variety of different course topics from which students can choose, and all Pre-College classes are taught by Adelphi’s nationally recognized faculty.

High School Summer Sessions

Get a jump start on your college education by joining Adelphi’s Summer Sessions this year. If you are currently in high school, you may earn college credits by registering for one of the selected college courses during Summer Session I or II. To participate, you must entering your junior and senior year, have a faculty or administrator recommendation or have high scores on your PSAT or SAT II exams. The cost is $505 per course.

TD Bank/Adelphi University Financial Literacy Program

Adelphi University is proud to partner with TD Bank in hosting this financial literacy program designed to help high school juniors from underserved Long Island.

The training will focus on the participants’ short-term and long-term financial health, while also creating interest among them in pursuing a career in finance-related fields.

Alice Hoffman Young Writers Retreat

In partnership with best-selling author Alice Hoffman ’73, Adelphi presents this annual intensive writing workshop where high school juniors and their teachers can experience the power of arts-based learning.

The retreat features creative writing workshops with Adelphi faculty, accomplished writers and artists, and English education graduate students. All admitted students receive a full program scholarship.

Additional Opportunities

For those looking to boost their test scores, Adelphi is home to prep courses for the SAT, ACT and New York State Regents exams.

And there are camps for almost any interest. Debate camp, chess camp, baseball camp, lacrosse camp and more will be calling Adelphi home for the summer; often coached by Adelphi faculty and coaches.
